  The next portion of this study has brought me to a place where the whole study is coming together. My prayer is that it does the same for the reader. I’m excited to share with you all that I am learning!   ‘To be asleep’ in Scripture often is a symbol of death, physically and spiritually speaking. (see Jeremiah 51:39, 57). In Revelation 3:2-3 the church in Sardis is told by Christ to ‘wake up’! “Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God. So, remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore, if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.” The church at Sardis was a dead church. Her members were unredeemed and unregenerate. In other words, they were the walking dead. They were physically alive but spiritually dead.   What does it mean to be ‘woke’?
